Welcome to the library
Wherever you come from and regardless if you are a child or an adult, you can borrow books, cd'rom, dvd, music and games, use the internet - send and receive e-mails etc.
It's free for everybody.
To borrow you have to register. See our rules for using the library.
Read books in your own language
To maintain your own language and continue to develop it and pass it on to your children, you can borrow books in your own language.
We have a collection of books, audio books and music in several languages.
If you need additional books in arabic or books in other languages, we can get them from The Immigrant Library.
Do you wish to learn danish?
You can borrow language courses on tapes.
We also have book + tape. It is books in easy danish, which are recorded slow-ly and clearly on tapes. You get the book and the tape together, so you can read and listen at the same time.
Another possibility is easy books. We have several easy books in danish for children, youths and adults.
Get news from your home country
Through Globale Links you can find newspapers and newsmagazines.
Get information about the danish society
You can find information in many languages about rights, duties and possibilities in Denmark - especially for ethnic minorities.
You can find the information on the web-page FINFO (information for ethnic minorities in Denmark).
Especially for women
If you are a woman between 20 and 35 and want to know more about Denmark - education and jobs - sickness and health - pregnancy and birth - marriage, relationships and children, then try Kvinde.finfo (Information for Women).
The portal is especially made for you as a woman. You can also ask questions and get answers on several things.
The internet and e-mail
You can use the internet at the library to search for information and to send and recieve e-mails. It is free of charge. You just have to remember to make a computer reservation. You can make the reservation, when you are in the library - or you can call us.
